The United Way Day Of Caring
United Way Day Of Caring

WVDP employees demonstrated their commitment to the local community during the Annual United Way Day of Caring last week. A whopping 52 people turned out to volunteer their time and efforts for community improvement projects! The Springville Youth Incorporated pool area and the Delevan Project Head Start were beneficiaries of this year’s effort, where painting, parking lot improvements, landscaping and fence installation and repairs were undertaken. Local Boy Scout Paul Foster completed the requirements for his Eagle Project during this year’s event by planning and completing the installation of a landscaping bed at the Springville pool area.

The West Valley Demonstration Project is a strong supporter of the local community and routinely searches for ways to be a good neighbor.  Recently representatives from the Department of Energy, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and West Valley Environmental Services LLC., presented checks to three local emergency response organizations to assist with personnel training and the purchase of new equipment.
